A Heartfelt Thank You & A Milestone Achieved
When we first launched our Women's Only program, our mission was to create a dedicated and encouraging space. We wanted to welcome more women onto the mats, help them discover Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and cultivate a strong, supportive community of female grapplers here in Orleans.
Our ultimate vision was always to foster an environment across our entire club where women felt comfortable and confident that a separate program would no longer be necessary.
New Space; Right Time
When we moved into this new location, the time was right to begin the work of integrating our programs and Coach Rachael Daniels transitioned from Women's Only coach to coaching in our Fundamentals Program. Due to Rachael's leadership and care, the presence and skill of women on our mats at Eastside Jiu-Jitsu Club are stronger than ever. Together, all members of our club have helped us build an inclusive and respectful atmosphere where feel genuinely comfortable, safe, and empowered to train, learn, and grow alongside each other in our co-ed classes.
This isn't an ending, but an evolution born from success. It's proof that our community is as strong and welcoming as we dreamed it could be!
Women's Only Open Mat
Coach Rachael's commitment to growing women's grappling continues at Eastside and across the Ottawa Region. Rachael and Emera Purton of The Ottawa Jiu Jitsu Club continue to run monthly Women's Only Open Mats with The Sisterhood of the Traveling Open Mats, a.k.a The BJJ Sisterhood
